Local author Jayne Conrad Harding will greet visitors and sign copies of her new novel, Out of the Mist: An Outer Banks Mystery, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Out of the Mist is a mystery story and a ghost story.  A young girl and her widowed mother rent a house in the North Carolina Outer Banks, but either the house is haunted, or someone wants them to leave almost as soon as they move in. A local deputy noticed suspicious activities focused around the house, even before they arrived. Frightening events unfold throughout their stay, as new characters are introduced and complex situations arise.

Out of the Mist is Harding’s first fictional work.  She lives in Mechanicsville, and teaches at VCU, Reynolds Community College, and Southern New Hampshire University.
