They Say ..Not Your Average Parenting Book

Local Parenting Blogger Publishes They Say… (Not Your Average Parenting Book)
Mechanicsville, VA; September 17, 2019: On October 19th from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, Books, Beads, and More in Mechanicsville will host local author, Lauren Jumrukovski for a book signing.
They say parenting is one of the most difficult jobs in the world—and that is the one thing “they” and local parenting blogger Lauren Jumrukovski agree on. Lauren graduated with her Masters of Education (Counseling Education) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and was a school counselor for eight years at local middle schools. She is now a stay-at-home mom, author and blogger. Her passion for helping families motivated her to write her first book and to create a blog to support and provide encouragement for parents. Lauren hopes her book and blog will help parents feel confident in themselves and to see they are not alone in their experiences and feelings.
Jumrukovski felt like she’d found her life’s purpose when she became a mother. “There was really nothing else that mattered more,” she writes. “Nothing more fulfilling and more important.” But parents these days are inundated with advice from an oversaturated media landscape: books, family magazines, and television experts all have something to say about how you should raise your kids, and very seldom do they agree. Combine that with the pressure to appear picture-perfect on social media and conflicting opinions from your family and friends, and it’s no wonder both new and experienced parents second guess themselves.
Jumrukovski began writing They Say…(Not Your Average Parenting Book) to remind parents that there is no one objectively right way to raise a child. Instead, she argues that new parents should trust their instincts: every child is different and requires different levels of care and attention, and no one knows that child better than the people who brought them into the world or raised them thus far. Through refreshing and relatable anecdotes from her adventures raising her three children, They Say tackles every day issues like potty training, discipline, breastfeeding, sleep cycles, traveling, and managing your marriage all while balancing life as a parent.
Jumrukovski tackles these and other tough parenting topics on her blog, TheySayParenting.com, which features no-nonsense parenting advice, posts about her life as a mother of three, crafts and activities for families, and product reviews to help show new and experienced parents alike that they’re not alone and they’re doing just fine—no matter what “they” say.
On October 19th, Jumrukovski will be onsite at Books, Beads, and More to autograph copies of her new book, take photos, and connect with the community.
